LOTHIAN GRADED MEET 01/02/2020

Yet again the amount of effort and number of personal bests means I have trouble highlighting all the good swims. Unfortunately I did not get to see the afternoon swims due to a tummy problem but now that I have seen the times posted I am well impressed.

Well done to Ellie A, Rachel , Kara . Ellie W,Cambelle, Summer and Darcy in achieving medals at this gala and it turned out yet again to prove what hard work does in training. Alice Henderson improved nearly all her times and Natalie and Natalia also swam some creditable personal bests. Glad to hear that Katy did not drill her fly so well done to her especially as it was 100 fly. Emma also had a great day with several personal bests again proving that hard work pays off. I make special mention of Ellie A who was nervous about her swims but her free time was very good and she deserved her medal.

Rachel made the final of both the back and fly and Kara with finals for free and breast with her free time an amazing 1.15. As per usual there is still room for improving especially on turns and starts but that will come with practice. The desire from all makes this team very special and this club is very close to the hearts of myself and Susan. It is because of the team bonding and everyone rooting for each other in the individual swims. It does not go unnoticed as coaches from other clubs and now technical officials ask how this is achieved. To be honest it’s just down to heart and soul and enjoyment. Every swimmer for the team comes out totally spent and with no energy left giving maximum effort and that’s all that anyone can ever ask.

Two club records were achieved at this graded meet Ellie W on 100IM and Rachel set a new 100 Fly record so great stuff.

So onwards and upwards and remember never think you cannot do any of the swims as both Susan and myself would not put you into any swims you are not capable of doing. Once again apologies for missing the afternoon session gutted to have to leave but so proud of all of you.

Keep up the hard work in training and if I have missed anyone out in this report I apologize in advance.
