SOPHIE had some great swims and is still hitting personal bests which is a very good sign. I thought she was harshly judged on her breastroke being disqualified on an incorrect touch. That having been said it is an easy mistake to make, Her dives are improving however still work to be done on getting more distance on her starts especially as she is swimming rapid between the flags.

CORRIE this was a very good meet for her posting some great times and posting personal bests. She had me laughing when she said is it finished as it’s home time to I pad and chocolate. Keep up the training everything is heading in the right direction .

KARA was on her personal bests and is always looked up to by the younger swimmers. When the young ones asked if Kara was swimming they all rushed to the end of the lane to cheer her on. Just goes to show how highly they all regard her.

JESS is a very powerful swimmer and is swimming very well and heading in the right direction. She admitted that her free swim was a bit ragged and that is something we will look at in training. She always smiles and is desperate to do well which is a very good indicator for her future swims.

LOLA she also had some good swims and in particular posted a very good time on her 50 Free. A slight increase in her arm speed on some of the strokes will help her immensely and again that just takes time.

HAMISH what can I say as he storms along with personal bests and shows remarkable strength for his age. Always smiles àfter his swims and he is progressing rapidly in all his strokes. So well done to him for his excellent swims at this meet.

FREYA had 5 swims at this meet and set personal bests following hard work in training. She also tackled 100 Fly for the first time which takes a lot of guts as it is not an easy stroke especially over 4 lengths. Despite this enormous task she came through with no disqualification and posted a starting time to build on for the future, Well done FREYA great days work.

MICAEL brilliant days swimming posting very fast times now on all his swims. He really wanted to break 1.10 on his 100 Free but was just outside doing this but I know that he will make it on his goals as he works so hard on the sets in training. Just down to experience on 100 free particularly as he went32 on his 50 free.

LEWIS proved at long last that hard training and just adjusting his strokes has made a huge difference. He is now using his height as a major weapon on his freestyle and the results are shining through. I am so happy with his swims at this meet as he has had to be patient and trust that there would be a major breakthrough. He like Miceal will now be up for breaking the 1.10 barrier.

RUARDH- a shining example of going from struggling with the training sets to putting in a major effort over that last few weeks to work harder. He utterly smashed his personal bests in fact totally destroyed them and I just love it when you kind of know as a coach that he would perform so well at this gala . I am full of admiration for this massive turnaround in his swimming. Well chuffed for you and richly deserved.

WILLIS was the only older boy at this meet and had to wait right to the end for his 100 fly. WIllis is so near to smashing his personal bests out of sight he just needs to concentrate more in training. Very talented individual who I think realizes his potential and just needs to grab the opportunity for some very fast times which I know he is well capable of doing.

A great days swimming however there were a number of disqualifications most of which were quite correct despite being told in some aspects just before their swims of what not to do. Most of the decisions to disqualify were absolutely correct although a couple were to be honest marginal to say the least. We will box these off in training however despite a great days swimming there is much to be done and improved on over the next few months. Finally I am sure at least two club records were broken and will cover this once verified..
